The Lanna Wisdom School (Hong Hian Sueb San Phumpanya Lanna) was founded in 2003 by Chatchawan Thongdeelert together with more than 30 master teachers ("hong hian" is Northern Thai for a school or learning centre). It is a place to learn and pass on many branches of Lanna wisdom — language (kham mueang and the Lanna script), traditional music, arts (tung banners, lanterns and pattern drawing), handicrafts (basketry, carving and lacquerware) and even cheang, the Lanna martial art. It sits on Rattanakosin Road in the city of Chiang Mai.
